Alouette® seems to sell out quickly and then I can't find it. Why is this?

We're pleased that our Alouette® cheeses are so popular. And we want you to be able to find them in your favorite store. The quickest way to solve this problem is to ask your store manager to keep a variety of Alouette® products in stock. They will take care of the rest.

Where can I purchase Alouette®?

You can find Alouette® in the dairy or deli cheese sections of your grocery store. Keep in mind that stores may vary in the number of flavors and varieties they carry.

How long is your cheese good for? Can I freeze it?

Alouette® cheese should never be frozen. Under refrigeration at home, and unopened, Alouette® will be good until the "sell by" date on the package. You should consume the product within 7 days after opening, or by the date on the package, whichever comes first.

What is the white coating on the rind of Alouette® Baby Brie®?

The soft white coating is a mold that is characteristic of Brie and Camembert cheeses. This mold protects the cheese and helps to give it the flavor the makes Brie cheese special. It is safe to eat, or can be removed and discarded when serving.

What size is Alouette® Soft Spreadable Cheese available in?

Alouette® is available in 4 oz. and 6.5 oz. sizes.

Does the Alouette® product line include any low fat cheese products?

Yes, Alouette® makes Light Garlic & Herbs and Light Spinach and Artichoke Spreadable Cheeses that have 50% less fat than our regular spreadable cheese.

Are any of the Alouette® products kosher?

Yes, Alouette® Soft Spreadable Cheese, Alouette® Gourmet Spreadable Logs, Alouette® Baby Brie®, Alouette® Creme de Brie®, and Alouette® Crème Fraîche are all kosher.  Most of the Alouette® Crumbles are kosher as well, except for Mediterranean, Blue and Gorgonzola flavors.

Is Alouette® Crème de Brie® made from real Brie cheese?

Yes! We remove the rind from regular Brie cheese and then prepare it so you can enjoy the creamy center of Alouette®  Brie. Find recipes and ideas on how to preparing and serve Alouette® Crème de Brie®.

Do any of the Alouette® products contain allergens?

The only allergen contained in Alouette® products is MILK.  Please note that while our new Alouette® Portions do not contain any allergen than milk, they are produced in a facility that also manufactures products that contain, or come in contact with, Walnuts, Mustard Oil, Gluten, Soy, Celery, Fish, Egg and Goat Milk.  For additional information concerning allergens, please e-mail us at customer.service@alouettecheese.com or call us at 1-800-322-2743.

Why doesn't my store carry all of the flavors?

Each store makes its own decision on which flavors of Alouette® to carry. If you don't see a particular flavor, ask the Deli manager if he/she would consider ordering it.

What kind of any animal rennet is used in Alouette® cheese products?

Alouette® Cheese does not use animal rennet is any of our products.

Are there any hormones in the milk used in Alouette® cheese products?

Our company neither approves nor condones the use of any growth hormones, including rBST.  To keep rBST out of our products, we require that our milk producers sign a letter acknowledging they are not currently using any growth hormones on their dairy farm and that they do not intend to use them.  Our goal remains to provide you with safe cheese products that meet or exceed your expectations.
