Alouette® Tomato Basil Torta Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup fresh basil leaves
1/3 cup grated parmesan or romano cheese
2 tbsp. pine nuts
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 pkg. (6.5 oz.) Alouette Garlic & Herbs, or Alouette Sundried Tomato & Basil, or Alouette Peppercorn Parmesan Spreadable Cheese
½ cup sundried tomatoes, chopped
1 tbsp. tomato paste
1 tbsp. olive oil
Whole pine nuts for garnish (optional)


Directions

In food processor bowl, combine basil, parmesan and pine nuts.

Cover and process with several on/off turns until paste forms.

With machine running slowly, add olive oil.

Line a smooth-sided 2-cup mold or bowl with plastic wrap.
Spoon basil mixture into mold. Spread Alouette Garlic & Herbs Spreadable Cheese over basil mixture.

Combine remaining ingredients and top cheese with tomato mixture.

Fold ends of plastic wrap over and chill 1 hour.

Invert torta onto a serving dish and peel off plastic.

Garnish with whole pine nuts and serve with your favorite crackers or bread.
